At the beginning of 2019 the usual Automotoretrò review was held in Turin, an event that has now passed the threshold of thirty years and that has established itself as one of the most important Italian events for lovers of historic and sporting motoring in general.
It was thanks to the interest and great sensitivity of the lawyer Loi, Past President of ASI and Dr. Gianolio, patron of the event, that the LMX Sirex historical register was entrusted with a stand, allowing for the first time, after 50 years , which were exhibited at an international fair of LMX cars. It was in Turin that a coupé and a spider had their debut in November 1969, in the pavilion of the body builders located on the lower floor of Turin, exhibitions in Corso Massimo d’Azeglio, where brands of great body builders who made the history of Italian motoring were hosted ( pininfarina, bertone, vignale, Osi, fissore, zagato,, gravel, etc. etc.)
A yellow turbo coupe and a metallic bordeaux spider, with aspirated engine, were exhibited, which aroused great interest from the public, characterized not only by curiosity, but also by the constant almost absolute lack of knowledge of the brand. Astonishment especially in the Turin people of not being aware of what had been produced in their city. An authentic moment of meeting and pleasure in sharing the emotion of so many fans of historic motoring.
Raduno in Italia 2019
In the summer of 2019 with three participating cars (practically 10% of the Sirex still in existence). In addition to these, the owners of two other cars, one in Germany and the other in Switzerland, still undergoing restoration, wanted to be present.
A meeting lasting a few days, with an itinerary developed through different stages, starting with the visit to the former Eurosyile factory in Turin, to the medieval village of the Castello del Valentino park, used in the summer of 1969 as a location for the photographic set for the realization of the leaflets of the LMX. From the visit to the Samas plant in Alba, where the last Sirex from the liquidation of Eurostyle were completed, up to the exhibition in the central square of the city which was expressly opened to host the LMXs. All in the frame of the splendid scenery of the Langhe that have not failed to give the right welcome to foreign friends with their wines and their excellent gastronomy.
Fiera di Padova 2019
Stand in the pavilion reserved for brands and historical registers. Two cars on display. The yellow coupé already exhibited in Turin at the beginning of the year and a red coupé. Stand at the level of the other brand registers. In any case, it was a matter of celebrating half a century from the official presentation of the LMX. Much interest from the large audience that characterizes the FieraDiPadova and especially from foreign collectors. It was a pleasure to meet the president of the Monterey Italian Competition accompanied by Raffaello Porro, manager in the field of public relations and promotion of international events, curator, among other things, of the Californian event Italian Competition. Opportunity to meet several journalists including Giuliano Silli, authoritative signature of specialist magazines in the sector.
Despite the first signs of the coronavirus epidemic, the event took place as usual. A red Sirex Coupé version was exhibited in the LMX stand. An opportunity to meet personalities from the history of Italian motoring and great designers whose names are the hallmark of the quality of Italian motoring, which found its highest expression in Turin.
